To Trust Again

Chapter 2


            The next day Sasuke & Naruko were sitting at the table eating their breakfast. The previous day Sasuke told Naruko that she had to live with him until she fully recovered. To say the least she didn't take it to well. She ranted on about having to share the bed. Sasuke assured her that he would stay on his side of the bed & would keep his hands to himself. He said that he was also ordered to protect her which meant wherever she went he had to go with her. Naruko sighed just as she finished her breakfast. "So, how did Naruto the news about me having to live with you?" Sasuke looks up from a scroll he was reading, "He didn't take it as well as you did. He was so enraged that he damaged the desk in the Hokage's office." Both laughed at the thought of Tsunade sending Naruto flying halfway across the village. "You done eating, Naruko?" She nodded just as Sasuke grabs her plate.
            While Sasuke washes the dishes Naruko goes into the living room turning on Sasuke's tv. He looks over & smiles seeing that she is somewhat getting back to her old self. The night before he slept in the bed with her was a comfort to him. He was glad that she was sleeping cause he knew that if she woke up seeing him in the bed with her he would have ended up on the floor. Laughing to himself at the thought as he finished drying the last plate. Clearing his throat he walked into the living room sitting next to Naruko on the couch. "I was thinking we go into town & get you some new clothes & other things you'll need. Can't have you using my shampoo all the time heh." Naruko looked over at him & nodded. "Sure, just let me get dressed. You come in & you'll be a dead Uchiha." Sasuke just laughed as she closed the door. he knew better than to walk in on her when she was changing. Naruto did that accidently & she nearly killed him. Few minutes later Naruko comes out of the room wearing one of Sasuke's shirts with the Uchiha crest on the back & a pair of black pants. "Ready?" "Yeah, let's go."
            One their way to the village Sasuke noticed Naruko was looking all over the place. He knew she was scared that someone would come out at any moment & harm her. Sasuke put his arm over her shoulder, "Naruko, don't worry. I won't let anyone harm you." She nodded her head leaning against him as they walked through the village. "So, what should we buy first?" "How about we get me some clothes first?" She said pointing to a clothing store. "Ok, we'll look there first." They walked into the store & go to the girls clothes sections. Naruko was looking through some cute shirts while Sasuke stood close by. She picked out a few shirts then went over to where the pants, skirts & shorts were. After picking out a few of each, Naruko walked in the section that had bras & underwear. This really wasn't the part of the store Sasuke wanted to be in. He saw Naruko hold up a bra & underwear set. Sasuke's face turned a bright red. 'Ok, Sasuke. Stop thinking perverted thoughts. Now is not the time.' he thought to himself. "Sasuke, are you ok? Your face is all red." Sasuke nods his head, "Yeah, I'm ok. You ready to pay for the stuff you picked out?" "Yeah, I'm done here. After I need to get shampoo, conditioner & other girly things." She said laughing.
            Sasuke & Naruko finished shopping, Naruko, you want to get something to eat?" "Sure, I am a bit hungry after all that walking around." Sasuke nodded, agreeing. "Where would you like to eat? We can have ramen, barbeque.....anything, hehe." Naruko laughed. "How about barbeque, not really in the mood for ramen." Sasuke stared at her with eyes wide as saucers. "Since when have you ever not been in the mood for ramen?" "Since now, hehe." He nodded, "Ok, barbeque it is."
            After eating they walked back to Sasuke's house. Naruko goes into the bedroom. "Do you need any help?" "No, I can do it!" she yelled from the room. Naruko opened a drawer in Sasuke's dresser seeing that it was empty. She put her bras & underwear inside then closes it. Once she finished putting everything away she walks out into the living room to see Sasuke pulling his shirt off. All she could do was stare at the muscles on his arms as they flexed from him moving them. She felt her cheeks get warm, blushing slightly. Naruko wondered when Sasuke got to be so....strong. Shaking her head to get images of Sasuke covered in sweat from working out. Looking closer she noticed that there were numerous scars on his arms, back & chest that he must have gotten from his missions.
            Naruko walks over to him placing a hand on his arm feeling a scar that looked slightly new. Sasuke turned his head to see Naruko looking at & touching his scars. She had a look of sadness & fear. She thought of a day when Sasuke could get a life-threatening injury that could take him from her. Naruko also had a crush on Sasuke. She has loved Sasuke for a long time. Living with with is something she always wanted & here she was in his house. What she did next shocked Sasuke, she wraps her around his stomach & rests her head on his back. "Naruko, what are you doing?" he said looking back at her. "Just let me hold you please, Sasuke?" He nodded turning around to hold her close to him. "Naruko, I know you're scared to be alone. Believe me, I will always keep you safe." he said with a sigh pulling her even closer. She looks up into his onyx eyes searching for what he was thinking. "Sasuke, what are you trying to say?" "What I'm trying to say is, Naruko....I love you. I always have. You don't have to love me back. I just wanted to let you know if you ever feel the same way about me." Naruko looked at Sasuke with tears in her eyes. Her long time crush has confessed his feelings towards her. She didn't know what to say. The only thing she could do was wrap her arms around his neck & cry. Sasuke wrapped his arms around her back. He smiled, hoping she loves him back. She didn't have to tell him right away, he will give her time to trust him before she can say it back.
